Fourth Princess – Han Ziqing
Fourth Prince – Jun Bei Yue
Qin Master – Lige – Crown Prince of Dongling
Second Prince – Jun Bei Chen
Ziqing, fighting for her life, stabs the disguised Xiling Prince in the abdomen with an arrow. She flees to draw the enemy away, ensuring the safety of her husband’s men. However, she falls into a trap, gets ensnared in a net, and loses consciousness after a blow to the head with a log. Lige descends from above, employing sound strikes to subdue the Prince and his soldiers. With qin strokes, Lige frees her and whisks her away from peril. Meanwhile, the Xiling Prince boards his sister’s carriage. When Bei Yue’s men halt them for inspection, the Xiling Princess feigns that her brother is merely sleeping off intoxication, allowing them to proceed post-inspection.
The Second Prince, Bei Chen, hastens to the King to slander Bei Yue. However, Bei Yue arrives with evidence of Bei Chen and his uncle’s deceit. The uncle receives a death sentence. Meanwhile, Ziqing’s deep shoulder wound deteriorates, prompting Lige to apply healing powder and administer potent wine. This triggers a reaction from the residual Moxun in her body. Lige deduces that she is an Islander and neutralizes the poison by immersing her in a cold, natural mini waterfall.
Bei Yue, suspecting Xiling for his wife’s disappearance, approaches the King to request the mobilization of the army, bringing Bei Chen along. Meanwhile, Ziqing regains consciousness and is told by Lige that she may leave once she has learned his qin skills. Despite her desire to escape, she finds no opportunity. Lige reveals his impending death and his wish to instruct Ziqing in playing the demonic guqin. Resolving to embrace her fate, she agrees to train under Lige, discovering the qin’s potential as a weapon.
Queen and Bei Chen plan to use Ziqing’s surviving the poisoning as a way to defeat her.(It comes back to Isolated Island again. I am curious how this will play out later.)
Ziqing begins her training under Lige’s guidance. During the session, Lige reveals to her that he was once a disciple of her mother.
Bei Chen arranges a meeting with Lige, while Bei Yue’s trusted aide follows closely. Lige refuses to compromise Ziqing for Bei Chen’s schemes, as he harbors plans of his own. We learn Lige is (surname Xuanyuan) the Crown Prince of Dongling. Bei Yue is convinced of Ziqing’s safety and proceeds with the assault on Xiling. Lige reveals to Ziqing that the demon qins belonged to her mother. He also informs her that she has been poisoned by Moxun, a toxin that is fatal within four hours. Ziqing is unaware that she has been poisoned. (refer to beginning of the drama – inner dialogue and conclusion it should be Bei Chen that poisoned her). She discovers she’s an islander, as she is immune to all poisons.
The army commanded by Bei Chen was unsuccessful in the attack and has retreated. The king has been informed of this development.
Ziqing recalls her mother’s warning not to remove the mask and expose her true face. Upon waking, she peels off a skin patch, unveiling a large tattoo on her face that identifies her as an islander. (and miraculously a small red (bloody) scratch that was on top of the patch is also gone and the underlying skin is perfect, this mask is awsome, it even bleeds like a real skin ) and the tattoo and the pattern on Bei Yue’s mother’s knife is the same. (is Bei Yue’s mother also an islander, if so why could not Bei Yue recover from Moxun?)
