While Hongyi and Ziqing are in pursuit of the thief, they encounter sick children. Ziqing decides to train them together. She nicknames the thief ‘Ten’.
Gu and Shadow present the Island tattoo to Bei Yue, which is imprinted on the blade. Bei Yue, who is dining orders the table be relocated when Ziqing arrives late. Consequently, Ziqing prepares a hotpot and invites her maids to partake in the feast. Overhearing this, Bei Yue asks Shadow to prepare a similar hotpot for him as well.
The following day, they are set to visit the Palace, and Ziqing must change her attire. Ziqing and Bei Yue pay a visit to the Emperor. Later, Ziqing is sent to stroll through the Imperial Garden, where she hears the qin being played skillfully. The Second and Third Princes are listening to Lige, a master of the qin. Upon seeing Ziqing, Lige is reminded of her mother and silently acknowledges her as his master. He then begins to play a different tune that Ziqing finds strangely familiar. As Bei Chen unfolds his fan, Ziqing realizes it belongs to the individual who orchestrated Chen’s assassination.
Bei Yue arrives and escorts Ziqing away.
Bei Yue inquires whether Ziqing is skilled in horse riding and archery, to which she replies, as usual, that she is not. He has organized a teacher for her. Upon arriving at the training area, they are met by no one. The teacher scolds Ziqing and commands someone to escort her to the dormitory.
Ziqing whispers to Hongyi, asking for her assistance in preparing something. She then approaches the children and promises to teach them skills that will empower them to live with dignity.
Bei Yue is kept updated on Ziqing’s whereabouts. She is either in the dormitory or on the mountain with the young beggars.
Bei Yue has arrived, when he asks Ziqing her progress she expresses doubts about her ability to learn anything in three days, questioning the point of trying. Meanwhile, Ziqing is matching Bei Yue’s pace in horse riding.
